How do you meet new people where you don't have any social ties?

I recently moved to the Jacksonville, FL area about 4 months ago and have yet to make any friends over here. No one at work really does anything or goes anywhere. Im always looking to go out and meet new friends. Any suggestions where I can go or what I can do to meet new people?

I made new freinds by being outgoing or you can ask onthis site if anyone lives around you and if they want to be freinds I met a few people on here and I have freinds fromTiwan and England even though they are not here I still have freinds!!
Reply:Go to the "Cheers" bar on I think Blanding Blvd in Orange Park. I used to work there, it still has the same manager and it's a great bunch of people. grin. Really, whatever you like to do, start doing it and you'll run in to people with similar interests. Get on a local chat site and let them know your interests, etc. Start chatting with people and you will find someone to hang out with.
Reply:What are your interest? Do you like sports? Join a local team at a community center. Do you like art? Take a class at a community center, college, or after school program (I don't know how old you are. Do you like to sing? Join a choir.
Reply:Go to the bars or games around the area! Check in you neighborhood, and see if any have the same interests!
