How do people get to meet celebrities?

I'm always reading about a star going to meet someone who wanted to meet them,called them, answered their letter,etc.I always wondered how these people were actually able to accomplish getting to meet their favorite celebrity.Can anyone answer

How do people get to meet celebrities?
M, Twist, J-14, all those teen gossip mags are having "Meet (blank)" or "(blank) will call you!" contests and whoever wins gets the big prize :)

Celebrities are just over paid.. over glamified people...

they are the reason every thing you buy costs so much.. yup - each TV show requires the actors to get paid.. they get paid by commercials - thus inflating the price of your products...





what do they do?? I mean sure they entertain.. but so does my husband.. hes dam entertaining... and FREE!!!!!


your pets probably entertain you too.. kids, family, friends





trust me the really important people are the ones you already meet and know... there is no need to meet a celebrity.
Reply:Try joining fan clubs or maybe attending Fan Conventions. Being a Scifi nut myself I have met many fave stars at cons. And despite what William Shatner says, we are NOT geeks who annoy them. Many of these actors are very nice, and will often take pics with you as well as autograph anything you hand them.
