I am somewhat shy, and am having trouble meeting new people in college. Most of my classes have 200 plus people in them, so I rarely sit by the same person very often. I am planning on attending some clubs, but are there any other ways to easily meet people. Apparantly what I am doing is not working very well, so I am open to any suggestions if anyone has any.

Clubs may be your best bet. Explore some. Also, asking someone to help you with studies outside of class is good. Well, for girls anyway. I don't know about the reverse. Whatever you do, don't get involved in stupid things to try to gain friends. I would stick with the clubs idea.
