Where do i meet people around my own age? i'm 21?

im not in school anymore and i've always been extremely shy, i'm a loner with no friends -.- and i've been very very depressed lately and i figure it's time to meet the world. where do i do this? wheres a good place to start meeting friends/girls? i know you can say at work is where you meet most people but i'm not talking about that, i'm talking about meeting people as in friends that're gonna come to your house or be real friends with you not aquaintances...and women too. i figure i need a girlfriend or what not. i never had one.. and i'm 21 i know it's pathetic. :(

Try a bar or club. Everyone is usually friendlier there. Get a drink and just start casual conversation. It'll be a lot easier than you think.
Reply:Yes a bar or a club will do just fine. Women find men more approachable if they aren't surrounded by a bunch of people. Also, when people get a little alcohol in them, sometimes a whole new world opens up. You may start chatting away! I know I will dance when I am drinking and I NEVER dance! Also, it's not bad that you haven't had a girlfriend in your 21 years of living. I am sure you have three times that many years left in your life. If you have hobbies, try doing those and maybe you will meet ppl. Try the YMCA or a local activity center. Pick up a hobby too! You should have the free time since you are done with school now! Good luck and don't worry about rejection, we all deal with it at some point in our lives!!
Reply:Bars. its sad but that is where that age group flocks too. But a job in a social setting anywhere where there are people coming and going, a mall a restaurant, Phone stores there all great opportunities to make friends.
