How/where do people meet their gf/bf on the internet?

I always see stories of people who have met online. but i just dont get where they met. it this the dating website type meeting place? or myspace type things? or does it all happen in chat rooms?





even for just meeting friends, i just dont understand how this happens. ive been online for a couple years and i dont use chat rooms, and rarely use myspace (other then to get other peoples ideas for chronic back problems), and my 'friends list' is empty, and i dont even see why one would need so many 'friends' on that thing anyhow. so are these stories referring to the 'dating sites' that focus on making people meet or am i missing a whole aspect of this interweb thing?

that's how people meet online. Some go to dating sites and others just meet by chance.
Reply:Yes, some are referring to the dating websites. But other sites people often meet from is myspace, blackplanet, facebook, etc. I guess it just depends on how much you are ont the computer. I am on it a lot for schooling purposes so I use myspace for an outlet to friends or other adults having something in common with myself. I have met a couple really cool people from the net but be careful!
Reply:I met my bf online through I game I used to play. I actually don't use myspace, chat, or use instant msging often either. I never intended to look for anyone online at first because I went through those horrible experiences of having online dates and it never end up well. I just end up hooking up with my bf when we found out we lived near each other and that we went to the same school. This just happened randomly. At first we wanted to meet each other as a friend going on a first meeting date. My bf ended up asking me out to be his gf at the end of the date.
